NZTeam returns home with 3 World Champions

The 7th World Latin Dance Cup was hosted in Miami FL over the week 12-18 December 2016, amongst the 1700 competitors from 50 countries were 37 New Zealand dancers and their supporters.
The World Latin Dance Cup is the worlds leading Latin dance championship created by the Worlds foremost Latino dance and music promoter Mr Albert Torres.
The weekends competitions saw dancers compete for titles in Children & Junior, Amateur and Professional divisions, New Zealand dancers representing in all.

Our first World title was awarded in the Children & Junior division – Salsa Children & Juniors Team. Emma Crossen, Te Ao Marama Nepia and the three Bendell sisters – Sophia, Lucy and Amber from Studio HQ in Blenheim.

The same day saw further excitement when Jorge “Coco” Sequeiros from Salsa Con Coco dance studio in Auckland won the Salsa Soloist Man Over 50 Professional.

We had to wait for the next day to see our 3rd World Title award and this went to Felicity & John Flower from Dance Pasion Studio in Auckland in the Tango Couple Professional division.
